Q: Why sign up for Texsy?

Texsy earns you money on your current un-monetized text content. When your content mentions products, Texsy underlines the product name and creates an ad. The ad only shows up when the user clicks on the underlined product text. When your visitor clicks on the ad, you make money with PPC and PPA affiliate programs like Shopping.com, Ebay, and Amazon

Q: What words get underlined?

Texsy focuses on product related words like "Nikon D70" and "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire". By underlining only phrases that are directly related to products, your visitors see more relevant, less intrusive ads.

Q: What kind of sites work well with Texsy?

Any site that regularly mentions specific products can work well.

All work well with Texsy Ads.

Sign up now and try it for yourself.

Q: Where do Texsy ads come from?

Texsy ads link to monetizable pay-per-click and pay-per-action affiliate programs from Shopping.com and Amazon Asscociates. The user sees a picture of the product, a brief description and one or more prices. It's an easy way to make a buying decision.

Q: How do I sign up?

To get started, go to our sign up page.

Q: Are Texsy ads compatible with Google AdSense's restriction on competitive contextual ads?

If it were up to us, the answer to this would be "Yes".

However, this is up to Google to answer. We don't consider Texsy Ads contextual ads, since Texsy doesn't look at any context around the specific product terms.

Furthermore, many sites already run in-line text ads and Google AdSense ads on the same page today.

Q: How do I get paid?

You will be paid by the affiliate programs. Texsy just shows the ads. So you need to be a member of Shopping.com or Ebay or Amazon's affiliate program. Texsy never touches your money and you get paid for the full value of each click or conversion.

Q: So I need to be an Amazon Associate, Shopping.com partner, or Ebay affiliate?

Yes. You must have affiliate codes for at least one of those programs. If you have affiliate codes for all three, the Texsy Ads will be able to show tabs for each program.

If you don't have an affiliate code for one of the three, your Texsy Ads will only show tabs with prices from the programs you do have.

So it makes sense to sign up for all three.

If you're signed up for all three, you have the best chance of making more money.

Q: How does Texsy make money?

Texsy inserts it's own affiliate codes for 20% of the ad impressions served. So statistically, Texsy gets 20%, and you get 80% of the revenue.

Q: How much can I make?

The amount you make depends on your traffic, the types of products that you mention and the click-thru rates. At this point, Texsy can't project earnings or total revenue.

Q: How do I make money from the ads that Texsy shows?

You get a check from the affiliate programs depending on how many clicks and sales they got from Texsy ads that contained your affiliate codes.

There are two types of links in the ads: Pay-per-click (PPC) and Pay-per-action (PPA).

Clicks on a PPC link pays when a valid click is counted and arrives at a merchant's site. Shopping.com is a PPC program, and they determine what a valid click is.

The PPA programs (Amazon & Ebay) set a cookie on the user's browser and if the purchase or action happens with a valid cookie that your site originally caused to be set, you get a commission on the sale.

Q: How much do these affiliate programs pay out for a click or a sale?

Shopping.com is a pay-per-click program and typically pays from .20 to .50 per click depending on the product.

Amazon pays from 4-8% commission when a user buys something from their site.

Ebay pays around $12 for a new user, which they call and ACRU, and from 40%-70% of their profit when a user you refer buys something from their site. See Ebay's program page for more details.

Texsy does not guarantee any payments from these programs, and the programs change their policies and payouts regularly. Please check with the programs for current terms and payment policies.

Q: Do I need to have a minimum number of impressions to sign up?

No. Anyone can run Texsy Ads - no matter how many or few impressions you get.

However, if you get over 1M impressions a day, it's probably a good idea to contact us first. Use texsy-support at texsy.com.

Q: Can I change the link color?

Yes you can change the link color. You need to add a line of code to the ad script:

 texsy_link_color = '#600';

So it looks like this overall - this would make the links a reddish color.

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
 texsy_code = 'YOUR CODE HERE';
 texsy_link_color = '#600';
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://alt.texsy.com/f.js">
</script>

The color must be either 3 or 6 hex chars - like: '#aaa' or '#D6f108';

Q: I'm using Safari on a Mac and it's not working?

Texsy Ads don't currently work on Safari. Mozilla on Mac should work, however. Some older browsers may also not show the ads. The pages still render, but the underlining won't show up. Over time, we hope to make Texsy work with more browsers.

Q: I'm having problems or found a bug, what should I do?

Please send the details to texsy-support at texsy.com.
